FAQs

  • The Foundation plans and executes events throughout the school year in an effort to build a strong community for our students, parents and teachers. In addition to social events, the board is active in teacher appreciation, service learning projects, and fundraising to support their initiatives.

  • The Rhoades Foundation is an important part of the Rhoades School experience.  Our top priority is to help enrich our community and promote a stronger extracurricular educational experience for our children.  We sponsor unique activities, such as last year’s Glow Party, special events like the Ice Cream Social and promote thoughtful service learning opportunities including the Toys for Tots drive. It is because of your generous donations that we are able to enrich our Rhoades community. Your contributions are helping to fund hallmark events at Rhoades, such as the annual Family Fun Day and the appreciation we show our teachers and staff the entire school year.

  • All of our events are made possible by your generous donations!

Please visit our Events page for a list of upcoming events for the current school year. We update the information here regularly, and will often additional events in addition to what is currently shown with shorter notice.

Pictures and other information from past events can also be found on the Events page of this site.

  • Crack Shack Wednesday and Pizza Friday are a key part of our annual fundraising. These special lunches are organized by the Foundation, but would not be possible without our dedicated parent volunteers!

While we try to make choices that most students will like, we unfortunately can't take special orders, or accommodate all dietary concerns and preferences. Historically, fruit and veggies have not been consumed during these special lunches, so we are no longer providing them. We suggest supplementing your child's lunch with healthy options on these days.

Sign-ups for special lunches generally take place twice per year, the first in September (covering September - December dates), and again in December (covering January - June dates). Please note that Special lunches are not served on half days.

  • My Hot Lunchbox is the school's new vendor for daily lunch service for the '24-'25 school year. The Rhoades Foundation has no relationship with, or control over this vendor.

For more information on My Hot Lunchbox, please visit the school website.

  • Many of the programs the Rhoades Foundation organizes would not be possible without our parent volunteers!

All parent volunteers at any of our events must follow the guidelines of the school, which are covered in the Volunteer Handbook. Please ensure all qualifications are met prior to your volunteer dates. Questions about these requirements should be directed to the school offices.

In some circumstances, we are privileged to have an abundance of volunteers. Generally this is the case for Pizza Friday and Crack Shack Wednesday lunches on our Lower School Campus. In this case, we ask that families not sign up for more than one lunch volunteer shift per month.

  • Once a year we ask our community of parents to consider joining our group of volunteers. This generally happens in April of each year. The new board members will meet with the current Board in May before taking on their positions in June.

All Board members are asked to serve a two year term. Board members attend one monthly meeting as well as take the lead on events or committees and support various activities throughout the calendar year. The time commitment can vary anywhere from 5 hours a month to 2 hours a week. This is a COLLABORATIVE board. Everyone does what they can with the time they have.  We honor and respect volunteers with busy lives, and no contribution is too small.

Being a member of the board is a very rewarding way to participate in your child's educational experience.

  • Information on the most recent 3 filed information returns (IRS form 990) and the Rhoades School Foundation application for tax exemption are available upon request. Please email webmaster@rhoadesfoundation.org to request this information.
